About Mikelangelo's Photoblog

I began this photoblog in April of 2005. My first digital SLR was the 6 megapixel Canon Rebel. Prior to that, I used photography to document references for my illustration work.

Since then, photography has evolved into a passionate creative outlet and an exercise to tell stories. I like to tell stories about the most mundane objects that I come across. If I can make any fence I find look interesting and make the viewer create a story about that fence with a single shot, then I've succeeded. The beauty of this is that the viewer's story doesn't have to even be close to the story I tried to capture.

Now, my journey is taking me in the directions of telling stories about people. Most notably my young family. You'll see much more of Charlie and Sam as they grow up. If I've done my job, there will be countless 'stories' about who they are as they grow up.
